A 19-year-old soldier from Fort Rich has been arrested and charged with 12 counts of possession of child pornography.
David Dacillo, Jr. was arraigned Tuesday. Charging documents say Dacillo downloaded pictures and videos from a peer-to-peer network on the Internet. Investigators found those images on Dacillo’s laptop.
If convicted, he faces five years in prison and a $50,000 fine.

I was wondering……if David was downloading from a peer to peer network on the internet, then what has happened to the other peers from this network? Is he the only one that has gotten charged with this offense or are there more? Has anyone contacted the parents of this 19 year old and asked them why he may be doing something like this or have the contacted them for information on the boy? This “victim” is it male or female? I mean come on if you are going to print this stuff why not have respect for the family and find out more information on him.

First of all lets just say that I never said he was innocent……..I said that they need to find out who else was involved and go after them also. Don’t twist things around you little fuck!!!!! I have raised two boys and I have taught them right from wrong and it is their choice to go the path they want……whether I want them to go into that path or not!!! Since when is anybody else responsible for another’s actions when they are over 18. It is not anyone’s fault or responsibility or anything else for what David searched on the internet.
Again, David is over 18, why would they need to ask mommy or daddy why he is doing it?
If he was DLing from a peer to peer network, I would bet my house that the authorities are looking into the peers on the network that possessed the child porn. It is a huge probability, however, that it is traceable out of the country, which means the US loses jurisdiction.
And what difference does it make if the victim is male or female? Does it really make a difference? If it does, then you are the one who needs to be doing some research, and looking up some information before posting your thoughts. At least make them educated thoughts.
You are trying to place the blame on everyone else… David is the one, if he had kiddie porn on his computer, he is the one who is responsible for himself. Not the victim, not the parents, not the friend who was sitting next to him.
I want to ask you one more question, Tina L.
What does it matter if he is a soldier or not? Is he not still accountable for his behavior? I happen to know for a FACT that soldiers in the US Military are held to a higher standard. If you are a soldier, I am appalled… even afraid… that the likes of David and you are fighting to protect our country.
A true soldier is fighting for RIGHT… and against wrong.

Why does everyone keep twisting this around? I have never said he shouldn’t be punished for his actions!!!!!!!!!!! I am just wondering why people go and write it and not ask questions, just jump to conclusions? Is there something wrong with asking questions? It is my right to ask.
I do know that we are there to fight for the right of things and that is not what I meant by saying that. Nineteen years old is NOT a child. The military does not accept children for service . He’s legally an adult and bears the responsibilty of an adult. If he can’t be responsible with his use of the internet , how can he be trusted with the responsibilty of serving his country in the military ?
I don’t see how searching for child porn qualifies a a cry for help. Enlighten me, please. I also fail to see how this young adult could’ve been stopped or helped by his parents even if he had been searching for porn from a room in their home. Proximity to mom and dad had nothing to do with it , except for maybe thinking that they would not find out what he was doing. I’d really like to understand how it was the responsibility of ANYONE ELSE to stop this young man from looking at child porn.
He obviously doesn’t have very good judgment if he thought he could get away with this kind of crime . What’s the next excuse ? No one ever told him that child porn is illegal ?

First thing is to say that I apologize for my language, and will watch what I type.
Ya know, people have tried to help him, all of us have told him to stop and consequences. He never listened, when we told him to stop, he would say not to tell him what to do. He would say he’s a grown man. One time one of the guys took his laptop and deleted his kiddy porn, he swore he’d shoot him, saying he couldn’t wait to go to Iraq so he can kill him. Who wants to help a guy like that? But even still he had a lot of people helping him at one point. He had guys sticking up for him, taking him in like a brother. The sad part is my buddy probably tried the hardest, he went far out of his way to be there for him, and then dacillo went and stole from him. Not just a little thing, but important stuff, a lot of stuff, stealing from almost everybody. His room was disgusting, I was moved across the hall and the smell made me sick almost every morning. He’d come out of the field, having no showers for a month. We’d see him still in the smelly close he was wearing in the field a week later, same dirt smudges on his face. We can’t make him shower, or stop looking up little girls. How can we, tell the police? No one said anything because we take care of our own. He had good NCOs, they fought with him all the time. He would not clean his room or brush his teeth, or flush the toilet, or work with out attitude. He’d end up screaming how he hated the army and how he waned to kill people. He should have been locked up along time ago, for threatening peoples lives, violations in gov’t computer policies (looking up porn, possibly kiddy porn), disrespect to an o-5 and e-8&9s. The list goes on. His NCOs tried to the point that I couldn’t believe. Other soldiers tried, I tried, but there was no help we could give him that he didn’t spit right back at us. Like I said the army couldn’t straighten him out, prison might. As far as his parents, I feel sorry for them, and i’m not pointing the finger at them in any way. David did it himself. Why he did what he did might be from something that happened to him as a kid? But that’s no excuse, not even close. Tina L, i’m not trying to attack you with words, but I don’t think you know how bad this guy really was. Really, I saw lots of times that lots of people tried. Maybe you don’t know him as good as you think. I’d hate to see him in my neighborhood, around my children, and family.

It was my room that he moved into when I got married. I was most likely the first person to actually talk to him. He was nice a little bit of a dim bulb but he seemed alright. I tried to help him with everything. One time we were about to go on a jump and this dumb kid didn’t have anything but together so I did it for him because I know I could do it in half the time he could. After that it was just one thing after another he talk back all the time he had article 15 after article 15. We couldn’t get him to take a shower ever. Then I fond out that he was looking at kids and it was too late. When I fond out his computer was already in custody. I told him he needed to look for a good defense because he was going to go to court. He got mad and said that he couldn’t get in trouble for it. I told him that it was a felony and his time was up. That was the last time I talk to him about it. He was on rear d when he was taken out. They told him that they were going to give him his computer back. So when he went down stairs he was arrested. He cried the whole why to the car. Trust me he knew what he was doing and now he is paying for it.

The dude is an adult. He made the choices he made, and now he has to suffer the consequences, whether it be prison, or sex offender treatment, or whatever.
I am 36 years old. I suffered 8 years of sexual abuse at the hands of my father, beginning when I was 8 years old. I made the decision that I was NOT going to be abusive. Many survivors have made that decision. We all have the ability to make the right choices… and if we need help making the right choices, we can ask. His childhood is not an exuse for looking at kiddie porn.
Do you know what kiddie porn is? Its pictures of naked children, often sexualized by the positions they are in. Children posed for these pictures, at the hands of an adult. The children are victims, regardless of age or gender.
Would you allow David access to your children? Would you allow him to babysit? Would you allow him to take pictures of your children?

Well, I have known David for most of his life and I think that Tina should let everyone know that she is David’s biological mother. I wonder why she didn’t share that in previous posts. Maybe everyone else would like to know that David and his brother lived with their biological father for the first 7 or 8 years of his life and then they went back to live with their mom when their dad was stationed overseas. Also, while David was living with his mom (Tina) he ended up in foster care for behavioral problems. Granted he had problems with ADHD before he went back to live with his mom and stepdad but he was getting professional help for those problems. When he was 14, the state contacted his biological dad and said that David wanted to come and live with him. So his dad went and brought him back to live with him and his family. What David did was wrong and whatever the outcome may be, I hope that he will be able to get the help that he needs.

I agree with dielel on this one. Everyone knows that there were people always trying to help that kid out. hell, i was one one of them. i think that EXTREMELY bad parenting is to blame. If you look at all the different cases in child porn, and child sex crimes, lets face it…….its not like they were getting the love and attention that a child deserves. i think that Dacillo’s parents are to blame as much as he is. ohh and misses TINA L, where were you the whole time this kid was growing up. i knew david for a while and never herd him talk about you ONCE! so its safe to say that you had nothing, or all to do with his strange behavior. i have also noticed from the police reports that 8 TO 9 of the counts of kiddy porn were on the missing and exploited list. ohh, and Tina, you”re crazy. i am 19 years old, and have been living on my own for over 3 years. Its not hard at all to wake up one day and realize you got to grow the hell up. My Good friend Jewell commented on the guy that went out of his way to help david and be there for him. that was me sister. i did everything i could. took him out to the mall, the club,ex. just so that he could feel like he was fitting in. i gave him advise on lots of things, like being young but also taking responsibility. he didnt even have control over his own bank account until i talked to him and convinced him to call his step mother and tell her that it was time for him to take the account. i even break the ice for him at parties in my room so that he wouldnt feel like everyone was hatin on him. i tried to be like a big brother. or a good friend. i always had his back. i would let everyone know just to leave him the hell alone and back off if he was getting ready to get his ass stomped. i went FAR out of my way to help and befriend him and he repaid me by steeling from me everytime he got the chance FUCK THAT

Wow, I’d say that maybe Dicallo had made a bad impression, ah………. ya think. Maybe he could have changed the course of history and not searched kiddy porn, and then he might be over here with us. Obviously this child and yes I said child needed help. Where was the commanders of the unit? Some individuals do not mature as fast as others. The help that his fellow soilders was giving was not what he needed. I do not agree with child porn but this boy needed more help than what his so called friends was giving. If the boy was so dirty why did the chain of command not get involved? I was in the Army years ago and the Army I was in would not have allowed that so is some one exagerating?
