A Pike County woman pleaded guilty this week to charges stemming from the sexual abuse and sodomy of her daughter and another teenage victim.
Addie Stephens Little, 39, of the Mount Moriah community pleaded guilty on Monday to two counts of second-degree sexual abuse and three counts of second-degree sodomy, according to District Attorney Gary McAliley.
Little was sentenced to a two years in the county jail for the sexual abuse charges and six years in the state prison for the sodomy charges.
Little and her husband, James Donald Little, were both charged in January with the sexual abuse of the two 15-year-old girls over a period of several years. McAliley said one of the victims was the couple’s daughter and the other a friend.
“This was one the most shocking cases I’ve seen in 34 years as judge and district attorney,” McAliley said.
James Little, 52, so far has not entered a plea in the case. He faces multiple charges of rape, sodomy and incest.
The Littles’ cases were presented directly to the grand jury in January. Addie Little was arrested with out incident on Jan. 18 outside an area convenience store. James Little shot himself in the chest with a pistol when authorities came to arrest him at the couple’s home on County Road 1111.
If a plea agreement with James Little is not reached, McAliley said the case will go to trial during Circuit Judge Jeff Kelley’s term.
“We’ll be going to trial if he doesn’t plead guilty. That’s all I can say at this time,” he said.
McAliley said prosecutors took into account that duress played a role in Addie Little’s involvement in the abuse while working out a deal with her attorney.
